三、教学过程:
Step 1. Greetings
Step 2. Listening Practice
1. Play the tape for A. T: What happened? He…( Gesture for Ss to answer.) [Ss:…caught a cold.]
2. Have Ss write the answer.
3. Repeat the procedures with the rest.
4. Have Ss look at the pictures. T: Let’s listen to the tape.
5. Play the tape for A, then pause. T: What was the cat doing yesterday? [Ss: It was at the bookstore.]
6. Have Ss write the answer on the page.
Step 3. Read and write
1. Give Ss time to read the story silently. T: ( Point to question A.) (S1’s name), can you read the question? [S1: Where was Uncle Tim in the morning?] T: What’s the answer, (S2’s name)? [S2: He was at the park.] T: Good. Write the answer on the page.
2. Continue with the rest. Answer key A—He was at the park. B—He was practicing tai chi. C—He was digging holes quickly. D—Because he missed the bus. E—He was eating his dinner.
3. Listen, read and circle.

1. Get into groups, ask and answer.
