初中英语that 引导的定语从句

一、概念

定语从句：在复合句中，修饰某一名词或代词的从句

先行词：被定语从句修饰的名词或代词

关系词：引导定语从句的词，可分为关系代词（that, which, who, whose…）和关系副词（when, where, why…）

例如：The man who lives next to us is a policeman. 先行词 关系代词

二、that引导的定语从句

that在从句中做主语或宾语、修饰表示人或物的先行词。作宾语时可省略，不能放在介词后面作宾语。

例如：The letter (that) I received was from my father.

Do you still remember the days (that)we spent together ?

小试牛刀： I can’t find the letter. The letter came this morning.

This is the man. The man helped me.

三、that 引导的定语从句和宾语从句的区别

定语从句中that为关系代词，充当从句的主语或者是宾语，充当宾语时可以省略。

宾语从句中that 为引导词，即连词，不充当从句中的任何成分，可以省略。

例如：Finally,the thief handed everything that he had stolen to the police.

She doesn’t know (that) she is seriously ill.
