教材分析
本套教材以“话题—功能—结构—任务”为基本编写思路,以话题为纲,以交际功能为主线,有序滚动语言结构,引导学生运用英语完成有实际目的的任务。
本单元的主题是“I’m tall.”,选取的话题紧密联系学生实际,学生非常感兴趣,在单元开始的31-32课,由学生喜欢的动物为切入点,内容简单易懂,由这个切入点设计丰富的课堂教学活动,学生在愉悦的氛围中主动参与练习,完成有实际目的的任务活动,使学生运用英语进行简单日常交流的这一技能的目的得以实现,也发展了学生综合运用语言的能力。
教学内容分析
本节课教学内容围绕学生参观动物园和描述动物的外貌特征展开,因这一话题对四年级的学生相对来说简单,且话题学生感兴趣,简单易懂,因此把31-32课作为一节完整的课做设计。本节课要求学生运用所出现的句型Look at the elephant ,it has big ears . A rabbit has long ears and a short tail.进行交际描述。Just read and write 部分要求学生听、说、读、写单词:big,small, long, short. 掌握Look at the elephant ,it has big ears . A rabbit has long ears and a short tail . Just talk部分要求学生运用这些句型对动物外貌特征进行描述。Let’s sing and chant 以歌曲和歌谣的方式巩固练习本课重点单词和句子。

1、知识目标
a.听、说、读、写单词big, small,long ,short.
b.听懂会说句型:Look at the elephant . It has big ears . A rabbit has long ears and a short tail .

a.能够听说读写两组反义词big---small, long---short ,并能做出迅速反应。

c.能唱 The opposite song .

Ⅰ.Warm up
Greetings.
T : Good morning , boys and girls . Look , How’s the weather ?
Ss: It’s sunny .
T : Oh , it’s sunny . It’s a fine day .Let’s go to the zoo ,ok?
Ss : Ok ! let’s go .
T: Take the bus . Sing the song and go to the zoo together .

设计意图:通过天气这一学生熟悉的问题自然引入今天的话题,通过谈话把学生引入英语的语言学习环境;通过歌曲热身,让学生以轻松的心态在愉悦的氛围中初步感知本节课所要学习的动物这一话题,创设老师带着学生一起去动物园参观的情境,歌曲与教学内容紧密结合。

设计意图:通过问题,引起学生的思考和期待,让学生在回答问题的过程中复习有关

Practice these four words : big, small, (long ,short )

设计意图:通过问题What’s at the zoo ? 引入elephant,通过对elephant的描述,导入新单词big ,small, long ,short. 以TPR和sing a song 的形式趣味性操练这四个重点单词。
7.Let’s describe the elephant .
设计意图:通过师引导全班集体描述和学生个体对elephant的描述,运用本课的重点词汇,练习巩固句型Look at the elephant .It has a long nose . It has a short tail . It has small eyes .
8. Show pictures of a rabbit and a monkey . Practice the sentences

9. Talk about the animals and then check : mouse ,giraffe,kangaroo, panda .
设计意图:学生通过对不同动物外貌身体特征的描述运用本节课的重点单词和句子。通过描述,培养学生的观察能力,合作学习和语言应用能力。
10. Lead in the new sentence .
T: There are many big animals at the zoo .Today ,there are some small animals in our classroom . Look, I have a rabbit . What do you have ?

11.Introduce their animal toys in group of four .
设计意图:通过问题引导学生利用手中的动物玩具表达:I have a…由课本句子引入与学生生活更贴近的animal toys , 学生非常感兴趣,在愉悦的氛围中运用英语与周围同学交流分享,也为后面的练习做好铺垫。
III 、Practice
1.Look at the pictures . Listen and find : What does Li Yan have ?
2.Listen ,repeat and read the dialogue .
3.Use the animal toys to practice the dialogue. Describe the animal toys in group of four and then check .
设计意图:通过提出的问题让学生通过听录音关注课文中的对话内容,在理解熟读课文内容的基础上,学生利用手中的animal toys ;在四人小组内灵活运用句子I have a ..Look at the …..It has …. 在实际生活中描述物品。
IV 、Extension and emotion education .
1.T says three riddles . Let Ss guess : What is it ?

b.It has a big body and small eyes .It is black and white . It is fat .(panda )
c. It has a long tail and big eyes . It is black and white .It gives us milk .
2.make a riddle with partners and let others guess .
设计意图:通过riddle的活动,拓展学生的思维,自编riddle 更是锻炼学生的联想能力、创造能力和综合运用语言的能力。
3.Let’s chant
a. Look at the pictures and lead in the chant .
An elephant has big ears .
A cat has small ears .
A monkey has a long tail .
A rabbit has a short tail.
b. Listen and chant .
设计意图:通过chant 学生进一步夯实has 句型的运用。
4. Emotion education .
T: Look at the animals, what do you want to say ?
(Animals are our friends. We should love them .)
设计意图:通过观看动物的图片,对学生进行思想教育,培养学生爱护动物的品质。
