COM-Port Settings for Vantage 50
This supplement helps you to use SCAN CT 6.x version for Windows 2000 on existing CyberScan Vantage 50 / 2D systems.
SCAN CT 6.1:
In Scan CT 6.x the RS232- communication from the PC to the Vantage 50 is improved. Please follow to described procedure to change the Windows 2000 COM-Port Settings of COM1. Change the settings before you use the Vantage 50.
Windows 2000 Adjustments:
1. Go to the Control Panel (Start – Settings – Control Panel) and select System. Select the Hardware
Tab and you will see the following Screen.
at “Ports (COM & LPT)” to list the ports.
2. Start the Device Manager by double clicking on the icon in the middle row. Click on the “+” – sign

3. Double click on the COM1entry to go to the properties of COM1
4. Click on the Advanced icon to go to the advanced settings of COM1. Uncheck the “Use FIFO
buffers” check-box which is enabled by default after the installation of Windows2000.
5. Close all the windows you opened before.
