My Amazing Summer Vacation!
Last summer was the best summer ever! I had so much fun and did so many cool things. I can't wait to tell you all about it. The summer started off with a bang when my parents surprised me and my little brother by taking us to Disneyland! We rode all the awesome rides like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds. My favorite was probably the Haunted Mansion because the ghosts were spooky but not too scary. We also met Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and all the other classic Disney characters and got their autographs. I'll never forget the incredible fireworks show at night over Sleeping Beauty's castle. It was magical!
After our Disneyland adventure, we went camping up in the mountains near a beautiful lake. We pitched our tent, went hiking, built a campfire, and made s'mores. Yum! One night we saw a family of deer drinking from the lake. Another day, we rented a little boat and went fishing. My dad actually caught a
big trout! We cooked it over the campfire that night and it was delicious. Camping is tons of fun but I was pretty glad to go home and sleep in my comfy bed after a few nights roughing it outdoors.
Once we were back home, my parents enrolled me and my brother in all kinds of fun summer activities. I took art classes and made cool paintings, sculptures, and pottery pieces. My little brother did junior lifeguard training and learned all about water safety. We both did swimming lessons too and can now swim even better than before. I also went to cheer camp and learned some awesome new cheers, chants, and dance routines.
In between all our scheduled activities, we spent lots of time just hanging out with friends and family. We had big barbecues and pool parties almost every weekend. I loved playing marathon games of Marco Polo and having cannon ball
competitions in the pool. Some nights we'd have outdoor movie nights in the backyard with a projector and make grasshoppers (that's mint chocolate chip milkshakes to you!). Other times we'd have epic games of capture the flag or flashlight tag that went well into the night. Smores by the firepit were the perfect way to end those fun evenings.
My birthday was in July so we had a huge blowout birthday bash for me with a dunk tank, petting zoo, cake walk, and so much more! All my friends came and we played on a giant inflatable obstacle course all day long. I must have gone down the gigantic slide a million times. In the evening, we had a magical fairy-princess dance party under the twinkle lights. It was a spectacular day that I'll never forget.
Another highlight was going to overnight camp for two weeks with some of my best friends. We had an incredible time doing archery, rock climbing, horseback riding, canoeing, swimming in the lake, and more. We sang crazy songs around the campfire every night and got quite good at the cup game and landsports. I even went down the terrifying blob one time which was simultaneously the scariest and most exhilarating thing ever! I made so many wonderful memories and can't wait to go back next year.
As you can probably tell, I crammed as much fun as possible into those three glorious months off from school. I barely had any lazy days just sitting around the house. Every single day was filled with excitement, adventure, and making tons of special memories with my family and friends. Vacations from school are the absolute best! I just wish summer could last forever.
Alas, all good things must come to an end eventually. Before I knew it, it was time to head back to school with a brand new teacher, classroom, and grade level to conquer. While I was sad to see the fun of summer go, I was also eager to learn new things and see my friends every day again. I just hope that next summer's adventures can somehow top this one! Thanks for reading about my amazing summer - I've got to go do my math homework now. Maybe I'll tell you about my awesome weekend adventures next time!

My Amazing Summer Vacation
Hi everyone! I want to tell you all about my awesome summer vacation last year. It was the best summer ever!
First, my family and I went to the beach. We built sandcastles, played in the waves, and collected seashells. I even found a beautiful pink seashell that I kept as a souvenir. We had so much fun swimming and splashing in the water. I learned how to float on my back, and my dad taught me how to ride the waves. It was really cool!
After the beach, we went camping in the mountains. We hiked through the forest and saw lots of animals. I saw a squirrel,
a deer, and even a bear! But don't worry, the bear was far away and didn't come near our campsite. We roasted marshmallows over the campfire and told scary stories. I slept in a tent for the first time, and it was a little scary at first, but I felt so brave! Next, we visited a big city. There were tall buildings everywhere! We went to the zoo and saw so many different animals. My favorite was the giraffe. It was so tall, and its neck was really long! We also visited a museum and saw dinosaur bones. I felt like a real explorer, just like in the movies!
In the middle of the summer, I joined a summer camp. We played games, made crafts, and went on field trips. One day, we visited a farm and learned how to milk a cow. It was messy but fun! We also went to an amusement park and rode roller coasters. I screamed so loud, but it was thrilling!
Towards the end of the summer, I spent a lot of time with my friends. We had sleepovers, went to the park, and played video games. We laughed a lot and made so many wonderful memories together. We even had a water balloon fight and got all wet!
Finally, it was time to go back to school. I was a little sad because I had so much fun during the summer. But I was also
excited to see my friends and tell them all about my amazing adventures.
That was my summer vacation in a nutshell. It was filled with laughter, fun, and new experiences. I will always cherish those memories and look forward to making more in the future. Summer vacation is the best time of the year, and I can't wait for the next one!
Hope you enjoyed reading about my summer vacation. Bye for now!

My Super Fun Summer Vacation
Wow, last summer was the best! I had so much fun and did a bunch of really cool things. Let me tell you all about it!
The first week of summer, my family went camping up in the mountains. We drove for a really long time to get there, but it was worth it. Our campsite was right next to a beautiful lake with crystal clear water that was perfect for swimming. In the mornings, I loved waking up to the sound of birds chirping and getting toasted marshmallows for breakfast. Yum!
We went hiking every day, exploring all the amazing trails near our campsite. I saw deer, rabbits, squirrels and even a bear from far away! We made sure to make lots of noise while hiking so we didn't surprise any bears up close. On the third day, we hiked to this incredible waterfall. The path was pretty tough with lots of rocks and tree roots sticking up, but the waterfall was gorgeous - like something out of a movie!
At night, we had campfires and my dad would tell us spooky stories about Bigfoot and aliens. They made me jump with fright at first, but then I just laughed because I knew they weren't real. Well, I'm pretty sure they aren't real anyway! We also did s'mores every night and I got to stay up way past my bedtime. Camping was an awesome way to start my summer!
After a week of camping, we went back home for a few days. I was really happy to sleep in my own bed again and take a nice long bath to get all the dirt and bug spray off. But I didn't get to relax for too long because then it was time for summer camp! I went to a day camp at the rec center near my house. We did so many fun activities like swimming, arts and crafts, playing games and sports, and going on field trips. My favorite field trip was when we went to the children's museum. I loved all the hands-on science exhibits where you could make things move
using levers and pulleys. We also got to experience what it's like to be a meteorologist on the green screen! That was really cool. I made a ton of new friends at camp too. We formed clubs like the Friendship Princess Club, where we would decorate notebooks and make friendship bracelets during craft time. My best friend at camp was a girl named Emma and we did everything together. We were inseparable! During swimming time, we tried pulling crazy handstands and cannonball contests to see who could make the biggest splash. Emma always won though because she's a total fish!
On our last day of camp, we had a huge party with a bounce house, face painting, pizza, and even a magic show! The magician did all sorts of crazy tricks like pulling endless scarves out of his sleeve and making his bird appear and disappear from thin air. I still have no idea how he did it! I was so sad to leave camp and all my new friends, but I made Emma promise we would have a sleepover soon.
The rest of my summer was filled with pool days, sleepovers, picnics, bike rides around the neighborhood, and family barbecues. We also went to the county fair and rode ALL the rides, even the super super fast rollercoaster that flipped upside down! My dad got a little sick after that one but I loved it. For the
4th of July, we watched the most amazing fireworks show from a blanket in the park. The whole sky was lit up with bright colors for what felt like hours. It was magical!
One of the highlights was definitely when my aunt, uncle and cousins came to visit from California for two weeks. Having family stay with us was a lot of fun, but also a little hectic with so many people in the house! We took them all around town, showing off our favorite spots like the children's museum, the skating rink, and the comic book store. My cousins are super into superheroes, just like me. We had an epic pillow fight where we all pretended to have powers like flying and laser vision. They thought my makeshift Captain America shield (aka a trash can lid) was hilarious!
Before I knew it, August was here and it was time for my cousins to head back home. We had one last sleepover and movie marathon, stuffing ourselves with popcorn and candy until we couldn't breathe. I was really sad to see them go, but I have a feeling they'll be back again next summer for more adventures!
In what felt like the blink of an eye, my summer vacation came to an end. I had made so many wonderful memories though - it's definitely a summer I'll never forget! While I'm
excited to start a new grade and see my school friends again, I'm already counting down the days until next summer. Maybe my family can go to Hawaii or Disneyland? A kid can dream! But no matter what, I already know it'll be the best summer yet.

My Awesome Summer Vacation!
Last summer was the best ever! I had so much fun and did a ton of cool things. I can't wait to tell you all about it!
First off, my family went on an amazing vacation to the beach. We stayed in a big house right by the ocean for a whole week. Every morning I would wake up and run straight outside to play in the sand and splash in the waves. The beach was like a huge playground and I never got bored. I spent hours building gigantic sandcastles, burying my little brother up to his neck, and hunting for pretty seashells. My favorite shells were the pinkish-orange ones with the cool swirly patterns.
In the afternoons, we would take breaks from the beach to do other fun activities. One day we went mini golfing. I'm not very good at regular golf, but mini golf is perfect for kids. I got a hole-in-one on the windmill hole which was really exciting! Another afternoon we visited this neat aquarium that had sharks,
sting rays, and all kinds of colorful fish. They even let you reach in and touch some of the smaller fish in their touching pools. That was awesome but a little scary too!
On the last day of our beach trip, we went on a dolphin watching cruise. About 30 minutes into the cruise, we spotted a whole pod of dolphins swimming alongside the boat. They were doing flips and splashing around. A couple even jumped clear out of the water which was incredible to see! I took about a million pictures of them to show my friends back home. Seeing real live dolphins was definitely one of the highlights of my summer.
After our beach vacation, the fun continued. My parents signed me up for a bunch of different summer camps and activities to keep me busy. One week I did an art camp where I got to do all sorts of messy, creative projects like ceramic painting, tie-dye, and sculpting with clay. I made my dad an ashtray for Father's Day even though he doesn't actually smoke. He still loved it and put it on his desk to hold pencils and paper clips.
Another week I went to a computer coding camp. I've always been really interested in technology, so I was pumped to learn some basic programming. We got to build super simple video
games and apps which was really cool. I even made a weird little game about walking tacos (my favorite food) for my final project. It was just a bunch of clipart tacos slowly crossing the screen, but hey, I coded it myself! The instructors said I was a natural coder. Maybe I'll be the next Bill Gates? Okay probably not, but a kid can dream!
Along with those bigger camps, I stayed busy with swim team practice a couple times a week. I'm a pretty strong swimmer, so I really enjoy being on the team. We had some big swim meets this summer too. I got a blue ribbon for finishing second in the 50 meter backstroke which made me pumped. I worked really hard on my backstroke, so it felt good to see that effort pay off. My parents were super proud of me too.
In between all my camps and activities, I loved just hanging out at home with my friends too. We spent a bunch of days riding our bikes all over the neighborhood, having epic water balloon fights, and playing basketball and other sports at the park. One time we even set up a lemonade stand in my friend Michael's front yard. We must have made 20 bucks from all the neighbors and people passing by who stopped for a cold glass of lemonade on that scorching day. Not bad for a couple hours of work!
Towards the end of the summer, my family took a short trip to visit my grandparents in Michigan for a few days too. That was a fun chance to see my cousins again for big family barbecues and sleepovers. My grandparents live out in the country, so we always have a blast running around their huge backyard, exploring the surrounding woods, swimming in their little lake, and roasting s'mores over the fire pit. I love the outdoors, so that was the perfect way to end an amazing summer.
When it was finally time to head back to school, I was definitely a little sad that summer was over. No more sleeping in late, hanging out forever with my friends, or going on vacation. But after having such an epic few months, at least I was ready and re-energized to tackle a new school year. I made so many incredible memories over summer break that I'll never forget!

My Amazing Summer Vacation
This past summer was the best summer ever! I had so much fun and did so many cool things. I can't wait to tell you all about it.
The first week of summer, my family went camping at the lake. We pitched our tent right by the water. In the mornings, I
would wake up to the sound of birds chirping and ducks quacking on the lake. For breakfast, we cooked sausages and eggs over the campfire. They were delicious!
After breakfast, we spent our days swimming, fishing, and canoeing on the lake. The water felt so refreshing on those hot summer days. I'm a pretty good swimmer now, but I still had to wear my bright orange life jacket. We caught lots of fish like bass, trout, and bluegill. We threw the little ones back, but we got to cook the bigger ones over the fire for dinner. Yum!
In the evenings, we made s'mores around the campfire. You take a marshmallow and roast it over the fire until it's nice and gooey. Then you sandwich it between two graham crackers with a piece of chocolate. So sweet and sticky and delicious! After s'mores, we would look up at the stars. I saw a few shooting stars streak across the night sky. I made a wish on each one! Before bed, we told spooky ghost stories while the fire crackled. A few times I got so scared that I screamed and jumped into my dad's lap!
After our camping trip, we went to visit my grandparents on their farm for a couple weeks. Grandma and Grandpa have a huge garden full of vegetables like tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, and corn. Grandma showed me how to pull up the carrots and
pick the ripe tomatoes off the vines. She let me eat the sweet corn straight off the cobs! In the kitchen, she taught me how to can tomatoes and cucumber into jars of pickles so we can enjoy them all year long.
Grandpa took my brother and me on rides through the fields on his old tractor. He let me honk the big loud horn. We fed the cows and chickens and gathered the eggs from the chicken coop. The baby chicks were so cute and fuzzy! One time a mama hen got mad at me and started pecking me when I got too close to her nest.
My cousins came over a few times and we had a blast playing together. We went swimming in the creek near the farm and had competitions to see who could skip rocks the farthest across the water. We climbed up to the hayloft in the big red barn and looked for kittens. We jumped off the barn into the huge piles of scratchy hay. At night we caught fireflies and kept them in jars to watch them glow.
After leaving my grandparents' farm, we went to spend a week at the beach in Florida. The beach had the most incredible white sand and crystal blue water I had ever seen. We swam and played in the waves all day. I loved jumping and diving through
the big crashing waves! I could spend hours just digging and building castles and sculptures in the soft powdery sand. One day we took a boat out into the ocean to go deep sea fishing. After a couple hours of cruising, we finally stopped and dropped our lines in the water. I fought hard and reeled in a huge red snapper! My dad caught an enormous amberjack fish that must have weighed 50 pounds. We took the fish to a restaurant on the beach and they cooked it up for us with butter and lemon. It was the freshest, most amazing fish I've ever tasted.
On another day, we went snorkeling near the beach. We got to see a vibrant coral reef full of tropical fish in every color of the rainbow. There were parrotfish munching on the coral, angelfish flitting about, and a huge green sea turtle slowly gliding through the water. The fish weren't scared of us at all and swam right up to my mask! It was like being in the middle of an underwater aquarium.
Towards the end of the summer, my family took me to an amusement park in Ohio for a few days. They had the craziest, biggest, fastest roller coasters I had ever seen! My favorite was the Millennium Force, which went over 300 feet high and hit top speeds of 93 mph. I felt like I was going to be thrown off the
track every time it went upside down. I screamed my head off the whole ride, but I wasn't scared at all - just having a total blast! The park had lots of other wild rides too like the Top Thrill Dragster where you go from 0 to 120 mph in just four seconds. My stomach felt like it was in my throat! They also had spinning rides that whipped you around really fast, fun

My Super Awesome Summer Vacation!
Summer vacation was the best ever this year! I had so much fun and did a ton of really cool things. I can't wait to tell you all about it.
First, my family went on a big road trip. We drove for what felt like forever to get to the Grand Canyon. I had learned about it in school but I was still totally blown away when I saw it in real life. It was huuuuuuge! The giant hole in the ground seemed to go on forever and ever. We went on a little hiking trail and I felt like a tiny little speck compared to the massive canyon walls towering over me. It was awesome and a little scary all at the same time!
After the Grand Canyon, we drove to San Diego and went to the beach. That was my favorite part for sure. I had never seen the ocean before and it was massive - even bigger than the Grand Canyon! The waves crashed onto the sand and the water stretched out as far as I could see. I spent hours playing in the surf and hunting for seashells. I even saw a few dolphins jumping out of the water! My little brother wasn't a huge fan though because he got his mouth full of salt water a few times. We also went to the San Diego Zoo while we were there. They had every kind of animal you can imagine. My favorite was definitely the pandas. They were these adorable black and white bears that just lazed around eating bamboo all day. I also loved seeing the lions and tigers and bears (oh my!). The Zoo had this awesome exhibit called the Frozen Tundra too with polar bears and seals swimming in giant pools of water. It was like being in the Arctic Circle!
On the way home, we stopped in Las Vegas for a night. I had heard Vegas was a place for grownups to gamble and party, but it sure was fun for a kid too! The hotels were like giant castles and we stayed in one that had an arcade, merry-go-round, roller coaster and even a little amusement park inside! Everything was bright and flashy with lights and sounds everywhere you looked.
My mom said it was sensory overload but I just thought it was a blast.
When we finally made it back home, I was exhausted from our huge road trip...but the fun wasn't over yet! A few weeks later, my cousins came to visit from Oregon and we had an awesome sleepover campout in our backyard. We pitched two little pup tents, toasted marshmallows over the fire pit, and told scary stories with the flashlight under our chins. We stayed up way later than my normal bedtime giggling and having fun. In the morning, we made campfire breakfast with bacon, eggs, and those ready-to-bake cinnamon rolls from the grocery store. Yum!
Just when I thought the summer couldn't get any better, my parents surprised me with a trip to Disneyland! I had been begging to go forever and they finally made it happen. It was every bit as magical as I had dreamed. We went on all the classic rides like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion. We watched an amazing parade and stayed for the huge fireworks show over Sleeping Beauty's castle at night. I even got to meet Mickey Mouse and get his autograph! It was a dream come true.
By the time summer was over and it was back to school, I felt like I had had about a million adventures. I made so many amazing memories that I'll never forget. Sure, part of me was a little sad that vacation was over...but I also couldn't wait to get back and tell all my friends about my super awesome summer!
