2.What do you think is the worst invention in human history? Why?

A: I think biological and nuclear weapons are the worst invention forever. Even through this weapons are meant for safeguarding one's country now it is used for showing one's superiority over the other.

B: I think the automobile is the worst human invention. The automobile is responsible for numerous deaths and will someday destroy the planet. Environmental pollution is increasing day by day and that’s all because of automobile.

C: Let's try to talk about it from different point of view.

I conclude that if these weapons are used for good purposes they will became good invention. If we are using it for destructive purposes they become the worst and dangerous inventions.

D: Yes, you are right! For instance, my mother is sure that television is the worst invention. She says that television, having become a nanny for so many children, and an escape for so many adults, has helped to dumb down our society and reduce our ability to use our imaginations.

She also believes that TV is affected human health (that is to say, it inspires people to not go outside and exercise).

C: I think your mum is right. Television helped making people closer and lazier. Which is what humans are doing for ages, so it contributed in that way.

A: Wrong! Without TV there would have been no Simpsons, multi-serial movies and a lot of nice educational programs about history, nature and different cultures of the World in BBC channel. Great sporting events and occasions live would be very rare and expensive outings, if even within geographical reach for most.

B: Though I agree totally that television is not always a positive thing, I think it also has many positives as well. How else would people have been able to have seen lunar landings, actually view our political candidates as real people instead of just a voice in the air? Sure, there is a lot of trash out there, but there is also a lot of good things that have influenced generations.

C: The sad truth is that most people waste their entire lives browsing the internet and watching television. What would they do without them? Well, they'd be forced to find ways to entertain themselves.

D: I do not think there is a single worst invention in human history? A top list of worst inventions will include a lot of different items like money, guns, oil, nuclear weapons, narcotic, alcohol, tobacco, guns etc. Somebody will say that even God and religion is a worst and destructive invention in human history.

B: So, just for summary, u guys try to say that all inventions in human history will became peaceful and worst, it’s just depends on purpose of using it, right?

A: Exactly! One cannot overlook the fact that some of the inventions which have had, and continue to have, theworst consequences for mankind are also some of the most useful and important.

C: Wait, wait! I really surprised in that someone says about religion like a worst invention. Could you please to tell us which arguments they are using?

D: Sure, here's why: in the name of God the Crusaders killed thousands of innocent Muslims along with many non-innocent ones. The root of Israeli-Palestinian conflict is also in religion. We all know about catholic inquisitions in Middle Ages Europe etc.

B: By the way, godless philosophies have been the causes of far more deaths than all religions put together, even if you count bloodthirsty religions like Islam that have violence as one of their main tenets.

A: No, it's just because belief in God is one thing; organized belief and forcing it upon others is another, one with often horrific consequences.

C: What’s about money, guys? A lot of people believe that money is the worst invention in human history. Who is agreeing with this point?

D: Money is surely one of our most important inventions, without which civilised society would be unthinkable. Money has become one of the main things in our modern life.

A: I think a lot of people live their lives to earn money. Some of them become crazy about it and lose their dignity hunting money. They don't appreciate such important things as family, friendship, love and other feelings.

B: Does money buy happiness?

C: With money we can satisfy not just our material needs, but most of our non-material,

social and psychological ones as well. But money doesn't buy pure love, real friendship and happiness.

A: I quite agree that money should have a limit. A person shouln’t has too much money, because it begins destroying him and becomes his cource. It will grow up envious and jealous of other prosperity. The majority of crimes made because of money.

D: But most of what we do is either for or with money. It doesn't only make the world go round, it also determines the speed at which it turns (the pace of the rat race), and even more importantly, where it is going.

B: In view of our complete dependency on, and vested interests in, what can we say about worst invention in human history?

C: One cannot overlook the fact that some of the inventions which have had, and continue to have, the worst consequences for mankind are also some of the most useful and important.
