摘要：A pumping system (10) including a fluid inlet line (20) and a primary pump (16)for the fluid (14). The primary pump (16) includes an impeller (34) in an impeller chamber(36), with the impeller chamber (36) adapted to receive fluid (14) from the inlet line (20). Asuction chamber (50) is above the impeller chamber (36), with a throttle opening (54)between the impeller chamber (36) and the suction chamber (50). A priming pump (74) isadapted to draw fluid (14) through the throttle opening (54) into the suction chamber(50). A fluid path (60) is provided around the impeller chamber (36) and between the inletline (20) and the suction chamber (50), with the fluid path (60) having a larger area thanthe throttle opening (54) and including a float restrictor (66).
