摘要：A color separating and/or combining system configured to guide blue (or first)light in a light beam from a light source to a blue-light (or first-light) liquid crystal paneland to guide red (or second) light to a red-light (or second-light) liquid crystal panel
includes a PBS configured to guide one of the blue (or first) light and the red (or second)light in a direction different from a direction of the other color light, a quarter-waveplate, and a color separation element configured to guide the blue (or first) light to theblue-light (or first-light) liquid crystal panel and to suppress the red (or second) lightfrom being guided to the blue-light (first-light) liquid crystal panel. The quarter-waveplate and the color separation element are provided between the blue-light (first-light)liquid crystal panel and the PBS. The color separation element is provided between thePBS and the quarter-wave plate.
